Fig. (7) In the second group of longer-term studies (58 days)(A and B), 7 out of the 12 infected tumors show a marked reduction of the size ranging (0.1 cm2 to 0.6 cm2) at 9 days (control: 2.4 cm2 to 8.1 cm2). At 29 days, 8 of the 12 infected tumors are reduced to 0 to 0.1 cm2 (control: 1.6 cm2 to 2l.1 cm2). The definite changes are observed at 42 days. Ten out of the 12 infected tumors measure from 0 to 0.2 cm2 (control: 10.6 cm2 to 38.4 cm2). At 58 days, 8 out of the 12 infected tumors are completely cured, and other two tumors are only trace (0.05 cm2). The remaining two infected tumors (9.6 cm2 and 15.8 cm2) are grossly necrotic. On the contrary, the 5 controls at 58 days show a marked divergence in size ranging from 12.9 cm2 to 57.1 cm2(A) (average: 30.5 cm2; sd: 17.99 cm2vs. infected tumors: average: 2.13 cm2; sd: 5.10 cm2) (B).
