^a Cultures were grown in minimal glucose medium at 37°C and harvested at an OD₆₀₀ of ~1.0. Specific activities were determined using crude extracts derived from sonicated cells and are expressed as units per mg protein. Substrate concentrations employed were 50 mM thiosulfate and 50 mM cyanide.
