Fig. (3) A 7-year-old girl entrapped her wrist in a swing. Clinical examination was indicative of a physeal fracture of the distal radius. Radiographs were negative. She was treated with a splint. The radiographs 5 weeks post-injury indicated a Salter-Harris type II lesion. The findings included widening between the palmar metaphyseal flake fragment and the metaphysis (arrow), as well as periosteal reaction on the palmar aspect of the distal radius.
