The variables were baseline data for RF, age, sex, DAS28, and disease duration. Smoking and socioeconomic status were assessed from the 2010 questionnaire. The references for smoking class were never-smokers and for socioeconomic class, manual workers. The patients who stopped smoking after 7 years after enrolment are excluded in this analysis.DAS28 = Disease Activity Score (28 joints), RF = rheumatoid factor, SEI= socioeconomic class.
