Manfredi Tesauro is a professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He completed his fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolic Disease in 2000 at University of Tor Vergata, Rome. From 1998 to 2002 he has been Visiting Fellow, National Institutes of Health, Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine Branch, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, United States, to investigate the mechanisms leading to vascular damage in conditions associated with increased atherosclerotic risk. Since 2002, he has served as Clinical Investigator at the Department of Internal Medicine of Tor Vergata University. He has been recipient of several awards and grants. He is member of many scientific societies and serves as ad hoc reviewer for more than fifty peer-reviewed journals. His principal research interests include the pathophysiological mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis in patients with insulin resistance, diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. He has authored of more than hundred peer-reviewed articles. |
