Dr. Gianrico Spagnuolo received a D.D.S. degree at University of Naples “Federico II” in 1997. He completed his Ph.D. in Dental Materials Biotechnology in 2002 and earned a post-doctoral fellowship in 2002-2004. In 2003 he had been Visiting Assistant Professor at Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at University of Regensburg (Germany) and from 2006 is Adjunct Scientist at same Dental School. From 2007 to 2008 he was associate researcher at Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Biomaterials (CRIB) - University of Naples “Federico II”. In 2011 he completed the three-year postgraduate program in Oral Surgery at the University of Naples “Federico II”. He recently obtained the National Italian Qualification for Associate (2013-2019) and Ordinary (2014-2020 / 2018-2024) Professor. To date he is Assistant Professor at School of Dentistry - University of Naples “Federico II” spending his time teaching, giving lectures and participating in the faculty practice in Endodontic and Operative Dentistry sections.

Maria G. Castro, PhD, is the R.C. Schneider Professor of Neurosurgery, and Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology, at the University of Michigan Medical School. Her research program focuses on epigenetic regulation of cancer progression, uncovering the role of oncometabolites in the brain tumor microenvironment (TME), and the development of new therapies for adult and pediatric gliomas, including DIPG. Alireza Karimi received the MSc and Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering/Bioengineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology and Kyushu University. Jerome Roncalli, MD, PhD completed his medical research training in Feinberg Cardiovascular Research Institute at Northwestern University in Chicago, under Professor Douglas Losordo. Prof. Roncalli serves as Director of the Heart Failure Unit in the Department of Cardiology at the University Hospital of Toulouse, France. He also serves as the Assistant Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory since 2008. Prof. Roncalli is a member of the French and the European Society of Cardiology. His major research is focused in interventional cardiology, heart failure, tissue repair/ regeneration, angiogenesis/vasculogenesis and progenitor/ adult stem cells. He is currently a Professor of Cardiology at the Purpan School of Medicine and coordinator of the CARDIOMET Institute in Toulouse.

Prof. Jeong Beom Kim completed his Ph.D. thesis in Apr 2009 under the supervision of Hans R. Schöler. He has mainly worked on generating iPS cells from neural stem cells by OCT4 alone. Now, Prof. Kim is focusing on generation of patient specific-stem cell from patient somatic cells at Hans Schöler Stem Cell Research Center (HSSCRC), Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), Korea, as a representative of stem cell research center. His research interests involve patient specific stem cell, direct conversion, induced pluripotent stem cells, stem cells and 3D bioprinting.

S. Masuda

Dr. Shigeo Masuda received his MD from the University of Tokyo in 1996, and PhD in Hematology/Oncology from the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo, Japan. He was an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor at Jichi Medical University, Japan, from 2007 to 2012, and joined RIKEN CDB in 2011. A. Salim

Dr. Asmat Salim is currently involved in the study of differentiation mechanisms of bone marrow derived stem cells into cardiac micro-environment both in vitro and in vivo. This includes stem cell isolation, propagation, identification and transplantation into the infarcted heart and determination of their fate by functional analysis. The in vitro analysis includes studies related to fusion of different cell types in culture and analysis of the fused cells. Her research group also works on stem cell differentiation into renal and pancreatic beta cells following kidney injury and type 1 diabetes, respectively.
