Stephan Segerer was trained in Internal Medicine, Angiology, Nephrology at the University of Munich. In 2008 he moved to Switzerland and worked as an Assistant Professor and Director of the end stage kidney disease Program at the Universityhospital Zurich. In 2018 he was appointed Chief of Nephrology at the Division of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation, Kantonsspital Aarau, Switzerland. His work in basic science was focused on mechanisms of inflammation in the kidney and in the peritoneal cavity. His clinical focus is on chronic kidney disease and renal replacement therapy particularly peritoneal dialysis and vascular accesses. He is president elect of the Swiss Chapter of the Vascular Access Society.
Dr. Agarwal is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at The Ohio
State University College of Medicine and Public Health and Section Chief of Nephrology at
University Hospital East. Dr. Agarwal is a passionate clinician and educator. His research spans
the areas of hypertension, dialysis, anemia, mineral bone disorders and vascular access.
Dr. Agarwal is an expert in Interventional Nephrology. He is the President of the American
Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology and the Deputy Chair of the Interventional
Nephrology Workgroup of the International Society of Nephrology. He has authored and edited
the first textbook of Interventional Nephrology as well as the first and second editions of
NephSAP on Interventional Nephrology. Dr. Agarwal is Chair and member of several advisory
