Stephan Segerer

Stephan Segerer was trained in Internal Medicine, Angiology, Nephrology at the University of Munich. In 2008 he moved to Switzerland and worked as an Assistant Professor and Director of the end stage kidney disease Program at the Universityhospital Zurich. In 2018 he was appointed Chief of Nephrology at the Division of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation, Kantonsspital Aarau, Switzerland. His work in basic science was focused on mechanisms of inflammation in the kidney and in the peritoneal cavity. His clinical focus is on chronic kidney disease and renal replacement therapy particularly peritoneal dialysis and vascular accesses. He is president elect of the Swiss Chapter of the Vascular Access Society.

Dr. Giacomo Colussi earned the medical degree from the Milan Università degli Studi in 1976, and post- doctorate diplomas in Nephrology in 1979 and in Urology in 1982, from the same University. He has been Director of the Divisions of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation at the Varese Circolo Hospital from 2002 to 2008, and of the Milano Niguarda Hospital from 2009 to 2017 (date of retirement). His professional and research interests concern mainly nephrolithiasis and electrolyte disorders, renal tubular disorders and genetic nephropathies, dialysis technology, immunosuppression in renal transplantation and immunological renal diseases. He has authored 3 books on nephrolithiasis and renal tubular disorders, is Author of more than 350 papers, and has been principal investigator in more than 30 multicenter, international ,randomized clinical studies.

Antonio Simone Laganà was born in Reggio Calabria (Italy) on 8th May, 1986. Dr. Y.-T. Dr. Khalifa within a team of physicians & engineers at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University, developed a novel woven collagen mesh material for potential use in mid-urethral sling surgeries. In another project, Dr. Khalifa and the group proofed that pSDF-1 (JVS-100) periurethral injection immediately after childbirth injury accelerated the recovery of continence and the regeneration of urethral sphincter in the rat SUI model.
