A series of phenyl end-capped oligothiophenes has been synthesized and a study of the absorption and emission
properties has been carried out; the photoluminescence quantum yield has been measured both in solution and in solid
state. The characterization, supported by DFT calculations, highlights a strong relationship between the optical features
and the differences in the chemical structure. The results show that some molecules are of interest in the field of organic
light emitting diodes (OLEDs).
